  • Blackstone Valley Tech presentation of 2017-2018 school budget: (Full Budget Portfolio in file with FinCom Clerk)
Joe Hall and Kurtis Johnson (Business Manager) came to present the budget for BVT for FY2017- 2018. Anticipated revenues, 3.50% increase in budget. Highest increases are in salary, transportation. Member assessments went up 4.32%.This is a calculation made up by the state. It is a very complex formulation to figure out the town fair share. The state has had some financial issues to figuring out fair share/value. Bellingham has fewer students enrolled which has resulted in a $43,000 (4 students) decrease to the town of Bellingham. BVT is not permitted to do bus fees to students which results in higher transportation costs. Total proposed budget is $22,725,302.  Motion made by KC  to approve $1,017,089. Second by KK. Recommended 4-0.
